His Job

His job is tough, and he is gone alot. Our children ask what is he doing, where he is, and when will he come home. I respond with pride he is defending our freedom and serving this country PROUDLY and no I do not know when he will be home. Just know that he loves you more and more each day. The nights are spent alone, comforting someones bad dream or helping them climb onto his side of the bed so they can be close to him. It feels like what I do is not enough in comparison. His job is demanding as are the jobs of all the men and women he serves with. They spend countless hours away from family and friends. I hear some people say that it is SO HARD to do what I do but I do not think so. It is an honor to be married to him and it is also an honor to have two little brothers serving as well. I am filled with pride everyday to say that I AM A NAVY WIFE, A MARINE'S SISTER, & AN AIRFORCE SISTER!!!!!!

There not musicals.... there movies

#1 had a discussion today at school about musicals. He plainly stated that the entire movie is not a song so it CANNOT be a musical. It is just a movie with more songs. He was very curious when he got home if in fact he was right. I explained to him that movies have different genres and that yes High School "Musical" 1 & 2, and Hairspray are in fact musicals! I think he was very upset about it. Currently he is doing "research" to see if I am right.... He is watching Hairspray.

Christmas 07'

Christmas for the South's was wonderful. We did our Christmas traditions of reindeer dust, cookies/milk for Santa, Christmas PJ's,Reading the Night before Christmas, and of course telling this kids a hundred times to go to bed so Santa can come!! Reminded me alot of what Christmas was like growing up. We had so much fun! It made me really miss home! I was "blessed" to have a brother and boy cousins. So when I got baby dolls and barbies they got G.I.Joe's and Ninja turtles. The down side was I always slept on the floor because they were older and bigger and grabbed all the good spots to sleep on Christmas Eve! Oh Boys will be Boys. I remember my Aunt would read us the Night before Christmas and then my uncle would tell us many times to GO TO SLEEP! We would be up laughing and filled with excitement over Santa and what he might bring. In the morning we would have to wait for the parental units to get Coffee and wake up. Then was the DEBATE. We had to line up every year before we would go into the room where the tree was. Yes the tree was in a different room with a parent guarding it! We went youngest to oldest or vice versa. Every year it was the same conversation...... what order did we go last year! Then we would all figure it out and finally get to the TREE! With as many people as we had in one house it was amazing that the room held all the gifts! I loved that feeling when we all walked in to find our Stockings filled and see what Santa brought. Oh to be a kid again!! This year we got to see the faces of our children and the same excitement. I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Snow Tips

#1 If you have an inflatable Santa make sure to de-ice him everynight.
#2 Never leave Swiffer Wet refills in you vehicle overnight for it will freeze.
#3 If you get snow on your pants while shoveling they will freeze.
#4 If your not a fan of snow and ice DO NOT MOVE TO MAINE! LOL

We are having a great time. Ready for some warmer weather. This morning it was 6 degrees. I would be very happy with 35 or 40 degrees! Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Snow Busy

With Mike traveling a lot lately and all the snow we have had I have not been on here. Christmas is coming very quickly and I am constantly thinking do I have everything? We have been very lucky to be invited to a friends house for Christmas Dinner... Woo Hoo I do not have to cook a feast! The boys are loving the weather. We are going to get hit again this week with a couple snow showers! We have already had one snow day. I am dreaming of a White Christmas! We have been receiving our Christmas cards and I will admit it now... I did not send any out. I know I am a bad person LOL! We have just been really busy. I am going to stop and enjoy the life around me. I have realized this year that life is short but beautiful and to enjoy every minute of everyday. I hope that everyone will do the same.

Christmas Already?

For me there is a rule that you do not put up Christmas deco til at least Thanksgiving weekend. Well not up here!! People in my neighborhood already have Christmas deco up. My neighbor and a good friend of theirs are in a Deco competition! It is a fight to see who has the most stuff. I have seen my neighbors garage and trust me when I say I live next door to the Griswold's. I cannot wait til it all gets up and I can take pictures! Fortunately for my hubby he gets to help them!! HA HA HA! I will be sitting inside where it is warm, drinking my apple cider made fresh from a local apple orchard! As for our deco.... it will be simple and some what themed!
